Paul KimbelMajority Owner of Inspired Innovations, US Army Veteran 101st Airborne Division and 10th Mountain Division 1992-2000, Served overseas in Somalia in 1993 and Haiti in 1994, Born and raised in Louisville, KY.

“I attended Eastern Kentucky University from 1990-1992. College wasn’t the route I needed to go. I wanted to find my own path, so I joined the U.S. Army in 1993 and was stationed at the 10th Mountain Division Ft Drum, NY. Shortly after arriving, I was deployed to Somalia with 57 Transportation to provide rations to the local citizens. This tour made me better appreciate the freedoms we have in our country. This tour was followed by another mission in Haiti and I went on to serve as the aide to the Division Command Sergeant Major of the 101st Airborne Division for 3 years.

I exited active duty in 1998 and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Although I loved serving, I wanted to chase my dream and opened an Outdoor Sporting goods store just outside of Ft Campbell in 2000. Business was growing exponentially until 911 hit and the base was deployed to Afghanistan. The shop remained open for 10 years, but not without struggles. I started working for a medical equipment company in 2002 to provide additional income for my family. This job brought back a lot of memories of my grandmother who lived in a nursing home for years. I visited the facility she was in quite often when I was young (probably 7-10 years old). Every time I walked in, they would just smile. It was a great feeling to bring happiness into their lives. Years later, I felt that exact same feeling on my first visit to a long term care facility and I recognized my calling.

Over the next 10 years I had the pleasure to serve veterans at home for their medical equipment needs. I was also able to cross my military experience, outdoor sporting goods experience, and healthcare experience to create new products including a rescue evacuation device called the Evacupod.

In 2011, I moved to Florida to work for a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. I’ve had the privilege to work with over 1300 veterans monthly for their Medical Equipment needs. My now 20 years of experience with therapeutic support surfaces has been an enormous blessing leading to the development of the Wiggle Mattress. I’ve always listened to the patients and clinicians in hopes to find a solution that meets their needs and keeps them comfortable. I also realized our veterans have different needs and I had the knowledge and skills to make a difference. Sleepless nights led to many designs and drawings of the dream mattress. In October of 2022, the Wiggle mattress was born.

I’ve always maintained an active role in the veteran community and was introduced to the Florida Veterans Foundation in 2020. FVF is a State run 501 C3 that falls under the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs. I found the organization to be a great bridge for veterans that need assistance that may not qualify through the VA hospital. Since 2021 I voluntarily serve as the District 4 Representative.

It’s truly amazing to have the opportunity to make a positive impact on someone’s life and I’m proud to design new technologies to give them the freedoms they so rightfully deserve.”

Differentiators

We have worked with thousands of veterans with many different diagnoses. We learned from our patients and clinicians. What they like, what they don’t like, and issues and concerns. All of those factors were considered when building the Wiggle. We follow up after delivery to ensure satisfaction and results. If there is ever a concern, we address it.

We play a vital role in the veteran community. Paul serves as a volunteer director for District 4 on the Florida Veterans Foundation. We assist veterans in any form of crisis (PTSD, Suicide, Drug Addiction, Benefits assistance, or even paying a water bill if it helps keep them safe and in their homes).

Our main objective at Wiggle is to be able to make a positive impact on our patient’s quality of life. We want to help our Brothers and Sisters regain some of the freedoms they so rightfully deserve.

When do you know that what you built is what you intended to build?

After 20+ years of experience, and if you listened to your patients, you just know that it’s only real when you get positive feedback that you are certain that it lived up to your expectations. That day can be a little emotional. To know that we positively affected someone’s life from something we built is pretty special.

A special thanks goes out to everyone that believed in me and gave me a kick in the butt to pursue my vision. Wiggle Wiggle.
